South African Crime Quarterly, edited by CLS Director, Dr Kelley Moult.
Date: 7th March 2019
Venue: Criminology Seminar Room
Time: 10h00 - 12h00
This week's session will be on "Doing the research". We will focus on how to write the proposal for our new members, as well as revisiting how the proposal has shaped the thesis writing process for our old members. We will revisit finding and fine tuning the research question in order to ensure that the thesis sufficiently addresses the question. We will also address the purpose and importance of the literature review, which is meant to justify the choice of research question, by showing the gaps in the existing literature.
In addition to this, we will be having photo's taken for the CLS website, so please come prepared. Please send a short (5 line) bio of yourself, which will be uploaded along with your photo on the website. Kindly send them to me by Sunday the 9th of March, 2019.
As always, we will be meeting from 10 am to 12 noon at the Criminology Seminar room. Tea and coffee will be served as well as lunch after the seminar.
